Donkey walking Adventures offer donkey walks around the lanes and byways of a beautiful Dorset valley near Beaminster for smaller groups of people. The fun kicks off with a grooming session and a cup of tea, and you can feed the donks a gingernut or two (they love them); then there’s a health and safety briefing, a quick training walk, and off you go.
The walks are usually 4-5 hours long, taking in some truly spectacular scenery; it’s possible to do shorter walks in the afternoon or evening – these cover 2 miles or so and you should allow 2.5 hours for this. The donks are wonderfully placid creatures and all four of them have been hand reared on site – they might even tolerate a very well behaved dog.
Sensible clothes and footwear are essential so don’t go in your glad rags, and leave your sandals at home. A lovely thing to do with children, provided they’re over four years of age. Booking essential.
