Book a large group holiday house with air con and you know you’ll be cool as a cucumber even on the most sweltering days of summer. It’s great that the UK has been enjoying warm summers over the last few years, but goodness, sometimes, it’s been like an oven out there! Some of us really suffer in the extreme heat, particularly babies and younger children, and the elderly.

Air con maintains a comfortable temperature indoors, making your environment cool and restful when it gets too hot, so it’s easier to relax and carry on as usual. The other advantages are that the air is cleaner as allergens are reduced, with dust, pollen and other pollutants filtered out, and with air con keeping the house cool you’ll sleep better as you won’t be waking up during the night because you’re too hot.

Some of our group accommodation has climate control – basically a more advanced version of air con with a built-in heating function so it can be used year round to set a comfortable temperature. With most rooms at those select properties having individual temperature control it puts guests completely in charge.

Yes, most people find the systems easy to operate. You might be told about this during your brief Meet & Greet on arrival, or there will be instructions available. The property owner or manager will be on hand to help with any questions you might have in any case.

Is the system quiet?

Yes, it is. Although, modern air conditioning and climate control systems are not completely silent, they are designed to be very quiet, usually operating at 19–50 decibels.
