Holiday Houses For Cold Water Swimming
If you’ve embraced cold water swimming you’ll be well aware that you’re not alone. The Princess of Wales, Bradley Cooper, Ben Fogle, Hugh Jackman and Kate Humble are just some of the celebrities who incorporate a cold water swim into their regular health and fitness routine. And no wonder, when you consider the benefits. It’s proven to be good for circulation, metabolism, the immune system and of course, your fitness levels, and it can even go some way to reducing pain and inflammation. It can ease stress, anxiety and depression, so its not just good for your physical health, it’s good for your mental health too.
If you’re new to cold water swimming, a private pool that’s not heated is a great place to start; no one’s watching you and there’s no pressure to keep up with anyone else. If you’re an aficionado, well here’s where you get to swim in privacy. Some of our large group holiday houses have outdoor pools that are heated from the start of the Easter holidays to the end of October half term, but outside those dates are perfect for cold water swimming; one or two even have plunge pools or ice baths and cold showers, some have a lakeside or beach location giving the opportunity for open water swimming.
