And no wonder, when you consider the benefits. It’s proven to be good for circulation, metabolism, the immune system and of course, your fitness levels, and it can even go some way to reducing pain and inflammation. If you’re new to cold water swimming, a private pool that’s not heated is a great place to start; no one’s watching you and there’s no pressure to keep up with anyone else. If you’re an aficionado, well here’s where you get to swim in privacy. Some of our large group holiday houses have outdoor pools that are heated from the start of the Easter holidays to the end of October half term, but outside those dates are perfect for cold water swimming; one or two even have plunge pools or ice baths and cold showers, some have a lakeside or beach location giving the opportunity for open water swimming.
